Key Responsibilities
Set up and operate press brakes using coining and air form tooling
Produce quality sheet metal parts while maintaining hourly production targets
Interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Inspect finished parts using basic measurement tools and document results
Load and unload materials and assist with packing as needed
Support other fabrication tasks when required
Qualifications
3–5+ years of experience setting up press brakes for sheet metal (.020"–.375" steel, stainless steel, or aluminum)
Ability to read and interpret prints and drawings
Proficiency with basic inspection equipment and quality documentation
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Capable of lifting metal parts and standing for extended periods during an 8-hour shift
Additional sheet metal fabrication experience (punch press, spot weld, PEM, etc.) is a plus

Experience with seamers is highly preferred (but not required); strong overall mechanical ability is essential
Working knowledge of motors, drives, transmission systems, pneumatics, basic electrical systems, and controls
Ability to weld common materials and use industrial shop and millwright equipment
Comfortable using test equipment such as volt/ohm meters and micrometers
Ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and troubleshoot issues logically
Work Environment
Manufacturing setting with exposure to noise, moving equipment, and industrial hazards

Advanced Manufacturing Extrusion Technician
$27.00–$34.00/hr DOE + 10% shift differential
12-hour rotating shifts (5:00pm–5:00am)

Sapphire Recruitment is partnering with a cutting-edge manufacturing facility in East Syracuse, NY to hire an Extrusion Technician who thrives on troubleshooting, precision work, and keeping production moving.
What You’ll Do
Walk through the facility and review performance data for extrusion process equipment
Perform maintenance on automated extrusion systems and related equipment
Troubleshoot and repair electrical and pneumatic systems
Assist with equipment setup and installation
Partner with the production team to support uninterrupted operations
Rotating Shift Schedule (12-hour shifts | 5:00am–5:00pm)
Week 1: Work Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday (off Wednesday–Friday)
Week 2: Work Wednesday–Friday (off Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, Sunday)
Qualifications (Requirements)
Associate’s degree in Electrical Technology or relevant Technical Certification
Minimum of five (5) years of technician experience
Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with PLC controls, electrical hand tools, and precision measuring devices
Ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic circuits, PLC's, electrical circuits, electrical machinery, and human-machine interfaces
Dedication to minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous production
