A well-established, independently owned insurance agency is seeking a Group Benefits Customer Service Representative to support its growing commercial benefits practice. This is a client-service position focused on group health insurance, account support, enrollments, renewals, coverage questions and claims advocacy.
The ideal candidate will have practical group health insurance knowledge and the confidence to work directly with clients, carriers, underwriters and producers. Four years of experience is preferred but not required; candidates with at least one year of substantive health insurance experience may be considered based on their knowledge, professionalism and ability to learn quickly.
Responsibilities
Support the ongoing service and administration of group health insurance accounts
Assist with client and carrier implementation and enrollment processes
Respond to a high volume of enrollment, waiver, claims and coverage questions
Assist clients with policy, coverage and claim-related concerns
Coordinate with insurance carriers, underwriters, clients and producers
Support open enrollment and renewal activities
Prepare proposal and renewal documents

Qualifications
At least one year of meaningful group health insurance or employee benefits experience; additional experience strongly preferred
Working knowledge of group medical coverage, enrollments, renewals and client service
Professional, articulate and comfortable communicating with clients
Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving abilities
Able to manage multiple accounts, deadlines and competing priorities
Self-motivated, organized and capable of working independently
Comfortable learning and using insurance technology and online systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook

Experience with Applied EPIC is preferred but not required.

Administrative Account Representative
HOURS: Monday -Friday (8am - 6pm)
PAY RATE: $25.00/hr.
Sapphire Recruitment is partnering with an innovative company in Syracuse, NY to find Account Representatives to become a vital part of their team!

Duties & responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide exceptional customer support to the distributor (including parts selection and ordering, pricing and availability, expediting delivery, dispute resolution, and limited technical support)
Provide superior follow up to distributors and sales managers
Manage all account interactions via inbound phone, online chat, and email.
Communicate with Distribution
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates Degree preferred; required to get hired on
Typing skills 35+ WPM
Experience with Microsoft Office
Excellent customer service and communication skills - Bi-lingual is a plus!
Ability to multi-task and be detail-oriented
