Analyze workforce information and provide practical recommendations to leadership
Qualifications
Approximately five or more years of progressive human resources experience
Broad experience across several HR disciplines, including employee relations, recruiting, benefits, payroll coordination, leave administration, and compliance
Ability to work independently as a standalone HR resource
Strong knowledge of federal and New York employment laws
Manufacturing, industrial, distribution, construction, healthcare, or another employee-intensive background preferred
Comfortable supporting a hands-on, blue-collar workforce
Ability to conduct workplace investigations and navigate difficult conversations professionally
Resourceful approach to researching unfamiliar HR matters and presenting recommendations
Strong judgment, discretion, integrity, and commitment to confidentiality
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field preferred
SHRM or HRCI certification is helpful but not required
Schedule and Work Environment
Monday through Friday, approximately 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
Primarily 100% on-site in Sharon Springs
Occasional situational flexibility may be available
Supports approximately 60 employees, including more than 40 shop-floor employees
Manufacturing operation includes a full day shift and a developing second shift
No regular travel expected
No direct reports initially
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary of $70,000–$85,000, depending on experience
Profit-sharing program typically providing approximately 5%–6% of annual earnings
Employer-funded retirement contribution equal to approximately 10% of eligible prior-year earnings
