Commercial Insurance Advisor

Location: Syracuse, NY
Salary: $100,000–$110,000 annually
Schedule: Full-Time | Hybrid (3 Days On-Site / 2 Remote)

Sapphire Recruitment is partnering with a growing, independent insurance agency to hire an experienced Commercial Insurance Advisor. This position focuses on managing an established book of commercial insurance clients, providing coverage recommendations, and maintaining strong client relationships.

No cold calling, prospecting, or commission-based sales required.

Responsibilities:

• Manage an established portfolio of commercial insurance accounts, primarily small businesses.

• Review policies, coordinate renewals, and recommend appropriate coverage.

• Work with insurance carriers and underwriters to negotiate coverage and pricing.

• Prepare ACORD applications, proposals, and related documentation.

• Identify coverage solutions, including Excess & Surplus (E&S) markets.

• Maintain accurate client records and provide ongoing account support.

Qualifications:

• Active New York State Property & Casualty Insurance License required.

• 5+ years of insurance experience with a strong commercial lines background; candidates with 3+ years of commercial lines experience and additional personal lines experience will be considered.

• Independent insurance agency experience strongly preferred.

• Experience working with commercial carriers, underwriters, and ACORD applications.

• Strong client relationship management, communication, and organizational skills.

• Familiarity with E&S markets and agency management software preferred.
