Automation Lead – Overnight Shift

Location: Central New York
Schedule: Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 PM–7:00 AM
Pay: $18.00/hour + 10% shift differential

Sapphire Recruitment is hiring an Automation Lead for an established manufacturing company. This position combines hands-on machine operation with responsibility for supporting operators, monitoring quality and production, and helping keep automated assembly equipment running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities include:

• Operate automated production equipment while providing day-to-day leadership and support to the team.

• Monitor production output, product quality, scrap, and daily production goals.

• Coordinate with incoming and outgoing shifts regarding production or quality concerns.

• Assist with machine changeovers and ensure required materials and documentation are available.

• Train and support employees on equipment operation and quality procedures.

• Troubleshoot production issues and escalate equipment, quality, or material concerns when needed.

• Maintain safety, housekeeping, and 5S standards throughout the work area.

• Work with planning, quality, warehouse, maintenance, and other departments to keep production on schedule.

• Complete production reports and related documentation accurately.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED.

• At least one year of related manufacturing or production experience.

• Experience with automated equipment, robotic systems, vision systems, or automated assembly preferred.

• Basic computer and math skills.

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work independently while also providing direction and support to others.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone comfortable working directly with automated manufacturing equipment while helping the team meet safety, quality, and production expectations.
