Technical Proposals & Engineering Concepts:
- Review customer inquiries and technical requirements for custom machinery and equipment.
- Develop preliminary mechanical and electrical drawings to illustrate proposed equipment solutions.
- Create engineering concepts and equipment specifications based on customer needs.
- Identify major components, materials, and equipment required for proposed systems.
- Estimate engineering design hours, manufacturing labor, and assembly costs.
- Work with Purchasing and vendors to obtain component pricing and material cost estimates.
- Develop project cost estimates and prepare competitive customer quotations.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposal packages, including preliminary drawings, specifications, pricing, and delivery estimates.
- Communicate directly with customers to clarify requirements, discuss technical solutions, and address questions.
- Collaborate with Sales, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to develop accurate proposals.
- Manage proposal revisions as customer requirements evolve.
- Coordinate internal reviews and approvals to ensure proposals meet customer expectations.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 1-4+ years of engineering experience preferred; recent graduates will be considered.
- General understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, machinery, or industrial equipment.
- Ability to interpret and develop preliminary engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact directly with customers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
