CNC Lathe Setup - Operator
$33–$40+/hour DOE | Flexible 2nd Shift Options

Sapphire Recruitment is hiring an experienced CNC Lathe Setup - Operator for a precision manufacturing opportunity. We’re looking for someone who can independently set up and operate CNC lathes, make necessary adjustments, and ensure parts meet specifications. Candidates with CNC programming experience may qualify for compensation above the listed range.

What You’ll Do

• Set up and operate CNC lathes for precision production.

• Install tooling, collets, chucks, and fixtures.

• Load programs and set tool registers and offsets.

• Adjust feeds, speeds, and offsets as needed.

• Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

• Complete first-piece and in-process inspections using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and other precision measuring equipment.

• Monitor machine performance and identify tool wear or machining issues.

• Perform basic machine maintenance and maintain proper fluid and oil levels.

What We’re Looking For

• Previous experience setting up and operating CNC lathes.

• Ability to independently complete machine setups and adjustments.

• Strong blueprint-reading skills.

• Proficiency with precision measuring tools.

• CNC programming experience is a strong plus and may qualify you for higher compensation.

• High school diploma or GED.

• Ability to stand for extended periods.

Schedule: Flexible second-shift options may include approximately 3:30 p.m.–11:00 p.m. weekdays, four 10-hour shifts, weekend hours, or a combination of weekday evenings and weekends. Scheduling flexibility is available for the right candidate.

Pay: $33–$40+/hour, depending on experience.
