Swiss CNC Machinist – 1st & 2nd Shift

Shift Options:

1st Shift: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM
2nd Shift: 3:00 PM–11:00 PM

Sapphire Recruitment is seeking experienced Swiss CNC Machinists for direct-hire opportunities with a growing manufacturer in Endicott, NY.

These positions are ideal for machinists who are comfortable setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and making adjustments to CNC equipment. Experience with Swiss-style lathes, Tsugami machines, and Fanuc controls is especially valuable.

What You’ll Do

Set up and operate CNC lathes, machining centers, and related equipment
Work with Tsugami Swiss lathes and Fanuc controls
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions
Complete tool changes, fixture setups, offsets, and basic program edits
Inspect parts using micrometers, calipers, indicators, gauges, and other precision measuring tools
Perform first-piece and in-process inspections
Troubleshoot machining issues and make adjustments to maintain quality and production
Work with Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to resolve equipment and process issues
Help improve cycle times, throughput, tooling, and machining processes
Support new product introductions and production ramp-ups
Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
Follow established safety, 5S, and quality procedures

What We’re Looking For

High school diploma or equivalent
3+ years of CNC machining experience
Experience setting up and operating CNC mills and/or lathes
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
Strong knowledge of precision measuring equipment
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
Ability to work independently and as part of a manufacturing team

Experience with any of the following is a plus:

Swiss-style machining
Tsugami equipment
Fanuc, Mazak, Haas, or similar CNC controls
G-code and M-code editing
Tooling selection and fixture setup
High-volume manufacturing
Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement
