Vice President of Marketing 

Location: Syracuse, NY
Employment Type: Full-time | Primarily on-site with flexibility
Salary: $100,000–$120,000 + up to 20% bonus

Sapphire Recruitment is partnering with a growing, established organization to hire a Vice President of Marketing who will serve as the company’s senior marketing leader.

This is an opportunity to shape the organization’s marketing vision, strengthen its brand, and build the strategy, team, partnerships, and measurement tools needed to support significant growth. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who is also comfortable staying close to execution—turning business goals into measurable campaigns and connecting marketing investments to customer growth and revenue.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead an integrated marketing strategy aligned with growth objectives.
• Translate business priorities into campaigns, channel strategies, budgets, timelines, and measurable goals.
• Strengthen brand awareness, customer acquisition, engagement, and loyalty across enterprise, regional, and local markets.
• Develop the annual marketing plan and budget, evaluate performance, and adjust priorities and spending based on results.
• Establish reporting that connects marketing activity and investment to customer growth, revenue, and other business outcomes.
• Bring new campaign ideas and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.
• Evaluate and optimize the mix of internal talent, agencies, vendors, platforms, and marketing processes.
• Lead and develop marketing team members while creating a collaborative, accountable function.
• Select and manage external marketing partners, including budgets, timelines, deliverables, and performance.
• Partner with executive, operational, and field teams to ensure marketing initiatives are practical and effectively executed.
• Support market expansion, launches, community initiatives, and occasional events outside normal business hours.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive marketing experience with significant strategic leadership responsibility.
• Proven success developing and executing integrated, measurable marketing strategies and campaigns.
• Strong business judgment with the ability to connect marketing initiatives to customer behavior, revenue, and growth.
• Experience managing marketing budgets, resource allocation, ROI, and executive-level reporting.
• Experience leading employees and managing agencies or specialized external partners.
• Proactive, entrepreneurial approach with the confidence to recommend, test, measure, and refine new ideas.
• Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder-management, and project-management skills.
• Ability to succeed in a fast-moving organization with evolving priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.

Preferred Experience

• Marketing leadership within an organization serving multiple markets or customer audiences.
• Experience refreshing or modernizing an established brand.
• Knowledge of digital marketing, paid media, social media, websites, email/SMS, loyalty programs, reputation management, and analytics.
• Experience supporting expansion into new markets or launching new products, services, or business initiatives.
