Accounting Supervisor
Compensation: $65,000–$75,000 + Annual Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Sapphire Recruitment is partnering with a well-established, privately owned project-based organization in the Greater Syracuse area to identify an experienced Accounting Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, growing company where you'll oversee day-to-day accounting operations while positioning yourself for future advancement into a Controller-level role.

This position is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys working in a hands-on environment, partnering with operations, and ensuring the financial health of a project-driven business. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced organization where accuracy, organization, and exceptional job costing skills are critical to success.
Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Lead month-end and year-end close activities.
• Maintain the General Ledger and ensure financial accuracy.
• Prepare weekly financial reports covering accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash flow, and project performance.
• Analyze job costs and project profitability while ensuring accurate cost allocation.
• Monitor project budgets and identify cost variances.
• Partner with operational leadership to provide timely financial reporting and analysis.
• Supervise and mentor accounting/administrative staff.
• Coordinate with external accounting and financial partners.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and process improvements.
• Support annual audits and other financial compliance activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Five or more years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience preparing financial statements.
• Strong General Ledger and month-end close experience.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
