Senior Inventory Specialist | Syracuse, NY | $23+/hr

Sapphire Recruitment is seeking a Senior Inventory Specialist for a full-time opportunity in Syracuse, NY. 

This is a great opportunity for someone with inventory, receiving, shipping, or MRP experience who is ready to take the next step in a manufacturing environment. The role is open due to an internal promotion, and the company is willing to train and develop the right person. Candidates with stronger experience may be considered at a higher pay rate.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:15am–3:45pm
Pay: $23/hr + Depending upon experience

What You’ll Do:

• Maintain accurate inventory records across receiving, raw materials, work-in-process, finished goods, and shipping
• Support proper handling, storage, and movement of materials throughout the facility
• Perform cycle counts, investigate inventory variances, and report findings to management
• Review sales orders, inventory levels, capacity information, shipping details, and due dates
• Work with the Plant Manager to identify bottlenecks and help keep production and customer deadlines on track
• Partner with sales, purchasing, manufacturing, and planning teams to support smooth workflow
• Assist purchasing with order quantities and schedules as needed
• Help identify process improvements, efficiency opportunities, and cost-saving ideas
• Support procedure updates and revisions as needed

What We’re Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; related college degree preferred
• 2–3+ years of related experience in receiving, inventory control, shipping, or manufacturing preferred
• Some MRP experience required; Syteline or similar system experience is a plus
• HAZMAT certification, international shipping experience, or related training preferred
• Supervisory experience is a plus but not required
• Strong organization, follow-through, and problem-solving skills
• Basic understanding of inventory/accounting principles
• Dependable, motivated, and able to work well with multiple departments
• Comfortable using Windows-based computer systems
