Our client, a mission-driven workforce development organization in Central New York, is seeking a Special Projects & Partnerships Manager to support strategic initiatives, community partnerships, and organizational growth.

This is an excellent temporary-to-hire opportunity for a highly organized, relationship-driven professional who enjoys managing projects, working with diverse stakeholders, and contributing to meaningful community impact.

Reporting to executive leadership, this individual will help advance workforce development initiatives, strengthen employer and community partnerships, support grant and reporting activities, and coordinate projects tied to long-term organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate strategic projects from planning through execution
  • Develop project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables for multiple initiatives
  • Support organizational strategic planning efforts and executive-level priorities
  • Build and maintain relationships with employers, community organizations, training providers, and other stakeholders
  • Represent the organization at meetings, events, and partnership activities
  • Track project progress and ensure initiatives remain on schedule and aligned with goals
  • Support grant reporting, compliance activities, data tracking, and program evaluation efforts
  • Prepare reports, presentations, dashboards, and materials for leadership and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate across departments to improve communication, processes, and organizational effectiveness
  • Assist with special projects that support workforce development and community engagement

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in project management, strategic planning, community engagement, workforce development, nonprofit administration, grant management, operations, or a related field
  • Strong project coordination and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Experience working with external partners, community organizations, employers, or stakeholder groups
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience creating presentations, reports, dashboards, or data visualizations
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work independently while supporting executive-level initiatives
  • Experience with grants, compliance reporting, program evaluation, or fund development is highly desirable
  • PMP certification or formal project management training is a plus
  • Valid New York State driver’s license required
