CNC Setup - Operator 

Schedule: 1st and 2nd shifts available
Pay: $22–$32/hour, depending on experience and shift
Job Type: Full-Time

Sapphire Recruitment is seeking an experienced CNC Setup - Operator to join a growing manufacturing team in Rochester, NY. This role is responsible for setting up and operating CNC mills, Bridgeport's, and related equipment to produce high-quality parts safely and efficiently.

This is a great opportunity for a skilled CNC professional who can work from prints, make program edits, inspect finished work, and contribute to continuous improvement on the shop floor.

What You’ll Do

• Set up and operate vertical CNC mills, Bridgeport's, and related equipment
• Edit CNC programs according to established procedures
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and G-code
• Inspect parts using basic measuring tools and record inspection results
• Complete required production and quality documentation
• Maintain tooling inventory and request replacement tooling as needed
• Troubleshoot production issues and support process improvements
• Keep machines and work areas clean, organized, and safe
• Perform basic cleaning and preventative maintenance on equipment
• Assist with other sheet metal fabrication processes when needed
• Follow all quality management system and safety requirements

What We’re Looking For

• 3–5+ years of experience setting up and operating vertical CNC mills, Bridgeport's, or similar equipment
• Ability to use inspection tools to verify part quality
• Strong blueprint reading and drawing interpretation skills
• Ability to understand and work with G-code
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Ability to stand for a full shift and lift metal parts to load and unload fixtures or tools
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Sheet metal fabrication experience such as punch press, spot welding, or PEM insertion is a plus
