Payroll Specialist
Location: Norwich, NY
Salary: $65,000–$70,000
Schedule: On-site, Monday–Friday

Sapphire Recruitment is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist for a well-established pharmaceutical manufacturing company in Norwich, NY. This is a high-impact role supporting payroll for a 500+ employee workforce in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented payroll professional who can manage deadlines, resolve payroll issues, and help ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for 500+ employees
• Manage complex payroll details, including union payroll, shift differentials, overtime, and multiple pay codes
• Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and timely processing
• Handle payroll adjustments, corrections, and off-cycle runs
• Respond to employee payroll questions and resolve issues professionally
• Support payroll audits, reporting, and process improvements
• Provide light benefits administration support as needed

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll experience in a high-volume environment
• Experience processing weekly and/or bi-weekly payroll
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality
• Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting
• Payroll system experience required; ADP preferred
• Ability to work on-site in Norwich, NY five days per week

Highly Preferred

• Union payroll experience
• Manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or similar industry experience
• Experience with shift differentials, overtime, and multiple pay codes
