Accountant - $70-75k
Our client, a well-established manufacturing organization in the Syracuse area, is seeking an experienced Accountant to support core financial operations and partner closely with leadership on budgeting, reporting, and process improvement initiatives. This role offers strong visibility across the business, working directly with operations, sales, and leadership teams while contributing to both day-to-day accounting and strategic financial planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting
- Oversee cash management and treasury functions, including bank reconciliations and credit management
- Support and supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting activities
- Assist in budget preparation, cost center analysis, and departmental cost tracking
- Perform SAP month-end processes including allocations, reversals, and settlements
- Lead coordination of external audits and government audits, including year-end documentation
- Maintain and manage fixed asset accounting
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and ensure compliance
- Communicate with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders regarding financial matters
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment strongly preferred
- Background in public accounting and/or auditing highly preferred
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles, auditing, and taxation
- Experience with SAP required
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work across multiple levels of an organization
