Project Manager – Manufacturing

Location: Tonawanda, NY (Buffalo Area)
Pay Range: $90,000 – $130,000 per year

About the Role

Are you a hands-on Project Manager who thrives in a custom-engineered environment? Our client, a growing leader in the industrial equipment space, is looking for a Project Manager to lead complex orders from the initial contract through to final delivery.

This isn't a "sit-behind-a-desk" role—you will be the central hub connecting Engineering, Production, and the Customer. If you enjoy seeing a technical drawing turn into a massive piece of finished equipment and take pride in keeping projects on the rails, we want to talk to you.

What You’ll Do

Own the Lifecycle: Manage custom equipment orders from order acceptance through shipment and final payment.
Master the Schedule: Build and maintain detailed project milestones, identifying critical paths to ensure on-time delivery.
Lead the Team: Facilitate weekly project reviews to keep Engineering, Procurement, and Production aligned.
Be the Face of the Project: Act as the primary point of contact for customers, providing clear updates and managing expectations.
Watch the Bottom Line: Track project budgets, risks, and margins while supporting milestone invoicing.
Drive Improvement: Help standardize PM processes and KPIs to build a more scalable operation.

What You’ll Need

Manufacturing Roots: Proven project management experience specifically within a manufacturing or "engineered-to-order" environment.
Technical Fluency: Ability to read and interpret technical or equipment assembly drawings.
Business Savvy: Comfort managing project financials, including budgets, forecasts, and margin awareness.
System Proficiency: Strong experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, etc.).
Communication Skills: The ability to move seamlessly between the shop floor and high-level customer meetings.
Bonus Points: Experience in precision metal fabrication, machining, welding, or industrial process equipment (e.g., water/wastewater, heat exchangers).
