Medical Receptionist | $19.50–$20/Hour | Temp-to-Hire
Do you thrive in a busy medical office and actually enjoy being the friendly face patients see first? Sapphire Recruitment is looking for a polished, detail-oriented Medical Receptionist for a healthcare client in Liverpool, NY.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll be the hub of a fast-moving front desk, keeping patients, providers, and schedules all moving in the right direction. Day to day, expect to:
- Welcome patients warmly at check-in and check-out, making every visit a positive experience
- Schedule and manage follow-up appointments, keeping physician schedules accurate throughout the day
- Verify and update patient demographics, insurance information, and copay amounts at each visit
- Collect payments, document transactions on the daily cash log, and balance at end of day
- Use software to confirm Medicaid eligibility and other insurance coverage
- Document clinical messages accurately using appropriate language
- Generate no-show and recall letters daily
- Redirect clinical concerns to the appropriate staff for triage
- Occasionally travel to sister offices (Ithaca, Vestal, Watertown) for coverage, mileage and a travel stipend are provided
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years of front desk experience in a medical office setting
- Solid understanding of commercial insurance (BCBS, Aetna, etc.) and Medicare plans — and the ability to read and interpret an insurance ID card
- Comfortable with practice management software; experience with Nextech, MDI, or similar a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a high-volume environment
- HS diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or medical/secretarial certificate preferred
- Valid driver's license required for occasional office travel
Details
- Pay: $19.50–$20/hour
- Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm or 8:30am–5:00pm
