Inventory Control Specialist | $19/Hour | Oriskany, NY

Numbers need to be right — and you're the person who makes sure they are. Sapphire Recruitment is seeking a detail-driven Inventory Control Specialist to join a manufacturing team in Oriskany, NY, where accuracy isn't just appreciated, it's essential.

This role goes beyond counting stock. You'll be embedded in daily production and logistics operations, keeping inventory data clean, current, and reliable across the board.

What You'll Be Doing

• Support the Inventory Control Lead in day-to-day inventory management operations
• Maintain accuracy across all inventories within the Inventory Management System, ensuring data is complete, relevant, and up to date
• Close production jobs and work orders on a daily basis
• Facilitate intracompany inventory transfers to keep production supplied without interruption
• Record and reconcile production transactions for third-party tolling companies, resolving discrepancies as they arise
• Lead and assist with the annual physical inventory and ongoing cycle count processes across all locations
• Set measurable inventory accuracy targets and track adherence
• Perform weekly yield reporting and post-run count adjustments to ensure production jobs are recorded correctly and reviewed on time
• Maintain the cycle count matrix, enter count data, and investigate and resolve variances
• Partner closely with production and logistics teams to ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with established practices
• Bring a continuous improvement mindset to everything you do

What You'll Bring

• Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory management and related software systems
• Familiarity with production planning software; experience with Deacom a strong plus
• Strong data entry skills with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and follow through to resolution
• Collaborative approach — you'll work cross-functionally with manufacturing and logistics teams daily
• Organized, accountable, and comfortable working in a production environment
