Maintenance Mechanic I | Manufacturing | $25/hr+

Are you a hands-on problem solver who takes pride in keeping equipment running at its best? Sapphire Recruitment is looking for a dependable Maintenance Mechanic to join a manufacturing team in Syracuse, NY where your mechanical instincts and attention to detail keep the entire operation moving.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll be on the floor making sure production equipment stays in safe, reliable working condition — before problems happen and when they do. Day to day, expect to:

• Perform and administer a preventative maintenance program for assigned production equipment
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and complete repairs efficiently to minimize downtime
• Coordinate planned downtime with production departments to keep disruptions to a minimum
• Execute shutdown activities to ensure all planned maintenance tasks are completed on schedule
• Follow established maintenance procedures and safety protocols at all times
• Communicate proactively with supervisors and production teams

What You'll Bring

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment with hands-on equipment repair and maintenance
• Working knowledge of production maintenance practices and procedures
• Ability to operate specialized equipment and tools
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Solid math skills — able to calculate rates, ratios, and percentages
• Ability to read and interpret instructions and apply practical problem-solving
• Professional communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Physically able to stand, walk, climb, stoop, and lift up to 55 lbs regularly
• Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn
