Financial & Budget Analyst
Location: Remote but in New York City Area
Job Type: Full-Time Contract (2-Year Term with Potential Extension)
Schedule: 40 hours per week

Compensation: $40-$55 per hour

About the Role
Our client is seeking a Financial & Budget Analyst to support their Finance & Operations team. This position plays an important role in supporting fund accounting, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and operational reporting for a large investment portfolio focused on renewable energy projects throughout New York State. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience working with financial data, and the ability to collaborate with multiple internal teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support fund administration and accounting activities, including monitoring portfolio transactions and reviewing monthly Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations
  • Monitor cash movements across fund accounts and perform reconciliations to ensure accuracy
  • Assist with the preparation of audited and unaudited financial statements and related reports
  • Analyze large financial data sets related to treasury management, liquidity, and capital activity
  • Support monthly financial reporting, budgeting, and quarterly forecasting processes
  • Monitor financial variances and identify trends through data analysis
  • Assist with procurement processes, vendor agreements, and contract documentation
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support operational improvements and reporting needs
  • Maintain organized records and ensure compliance with internal financial controls

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
  • Experience working with large financial data sets and performing financial analysis
  • Exposure to fund accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, or related financial operations
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office suite
Preferred
  • Experience with investment operations, fund accounting, or financial accounting environments
  • Familiarity with financial systems such as Office 365, SharePoint, Salesforce, Advent Geneva, or Tableau
  • Experience supporting budgeting, forecasting, or financial reporting processes
