We have an opportunity available for a Manufacturing Engineer in the Syracuse, NY area.
This role focuses on improving manufacturing processes, driving automation, and supporting production in a high-mix, low-volume, and very tight tolerance environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Process Development
Establish and refine manufacturing processes, routings, and detailed work instructions
Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and test equipment to support assembly and test operations
Provide hands-on engineering support to production teams to resolve issues and maintain process flow
Continuous Improvement
Lead initiatives focused on productivity gains and cost reduction
Apply Lean manufacturing principles to streamline processes and monitor key performance metrics
Identify and implement improvements that enhance efficiency, quality, and overall throughput
Automation & Innovation
Develop automated or semi-automated solutions for assembly and testing processes
Utilize technologies such as LabVIEW, PLCs, robotics, and other automation tools
Partner with engineering teams to improve process capability and operational performance
New Product Support
Participate in manufacturability reviews and provide input on cost estimates for new programs
Support development of acceptance test procedures and manufacturing processes for new products
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or technical discipline
5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience
Experience with CAD (Inventor preferred), tooling/fixture design
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing / Continuous Improvement
Familiarity with automation technologies, PLCs, or LabVIEW
Experience supporting precision assemblies, hydraulic, pneumatic, or aerospace components is a plus
