Road Technician – Albany Area / 61979
$26–$28/hour

Sapphire Recruitment is seeking a skilled Road Technician to support service operations throughout the Albany region, ideally based between Albany and Newburgh. This role includes regular travel and occasional reporting to the Syracuse facility (weekly or every other week). A company service truck is provided, and most nights you will be home.

Schedule: Typically Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with flexibility to stay until service calls are completed.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment.

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical (12V & 110V), and accessory systems.

• Rebuild and replace parts; test drive vehicles and verify performance meets standards.

• Maintain accurate communication with supervisors and a clean, organized work area.

• Ensure compliance with traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies.

• Deliver excellent customer service and support ongoing service and department goals.

• Utilize internal systems for documentation and service reporting.

• Regular travel required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Auto mechanic or service technician experience required

• Clean, valid driver’s license (DOT clearance will be obtained)

• EVT Certification required

• Ability to lift, climb, and stand for extended periods

• Strong interpersonal and independent work skills

• Basic hand tools required

• Welding/fabrication experience a plus

• Comfortable with Microsoft Office

• Demonstrated honesty, integrity, and commitment to safety
