We are partnering with a growing aerospace metals manufacturer to hire a Director of Materials to lead procurement, inventory, and production planning functions.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving sourcing strategies, optimizing material flow, and partnering closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure efficient, cost-effective operations.
Key Responsibilities:
We are partnering with a growing aerospace metals manufacturer to hire a Director of Materials to lead procurement, inventory, and production planning functions.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving sourcing strategies, optimizing material flow, and partnering closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure efficient, cost-effective operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead purchasing, inventory, and materials management to support production schedules and cost targets.
- Develop strategic sourcing and supplier relationship programs for metals and consumables.
- Oversee inventory control, cycle counting, and traceability compliance.
- Manage the SIOP process to align sales forecasts with production and material requirements.
- Negotiate supplier contracts and pricing to achieve cost savings and secure supply continuity.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and corporate procurement to improve performance.
- Lead and develop a small team of buyers and planners.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (advanced degree a plus).
- Materials or procurement experience of aerospace castings or metals manufacturing.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing purchasing or materials teams.
- Strong negotiation, ERP, and analytical skills.
- Certifications such as CPSM, CPIM, or CSCP preferred.
