Finance Supervisor

We’re seeking an experienced Finance Supervisor to lead accounting operations, drive accurate reporting, and support strategic decision-making for a leading manufacturing organization in Syracuse, NY. This role offers the opportunity to mentor a team, oversee compliance, and contribute to high-level financial planning while working closely with senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor accounting staff; provide regular coaching and performance feedback.

• Oversee preparation and review of financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).

• Conduct variance analysis (MoM, YTD, budget vs. actual) and deliver actionable insights.

• Approve journal entries, bank reconciliations, and general ledger reconciliations.

• Oversee audits, tax compliance, cost control, and financial reporting accuracy.

• Drive process improvement initiatives, dashboards, and reporting automation.

• Partner cross-functionally to support strategic initiatives and 3-year financial forecasting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (CPA or CMA preferred).

• 5+ years of financial statement analysis experience.

• 3+ years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.

• Proven leadership and team supervision experience.

• Advanced Excel skills (pivots, lookups, logic functions).

• ERP proficiency; familiarity with Global Shop or QuickBooks a plus.

• Strong analytical skills, ethical standards, and ability to communicate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
