Mechanical Engineering Manager Rochester, NY | Onsite Salary Range: $150,000 – $180,000 Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to join their growing team in Rochester, NY. Key Responsibilities
Lead engineering evaluations, field inspections, design development, and cost estimation for a variety of building systems.
Oversee and perform mechanical system design (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) with a focus on compliance, performance, and efficiency.
Apply the latest codes and technologies to develop innovative and optimized solutions.
Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and leadership across projects.
Qualifications
Proficient in NYS Mechanical, Energy, and Plumbing Codes, as well as NFPA standards.
Strong experience with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to thrive in a team environment.
Preferred: Experience with energy modeling software (Carrier HAP, TRANE TRACE, or EQUEST), LEED Green Associate, and Commissioning knowledge.
Experience & Education
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
Active NYS Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
10+ years of relevant post-graduate experience.
Project experience in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system design—especially for schools, healthcare, and commercial facilities.
Specialized knowledge in chilled/hot water systems, building controls, and industrial mechanical systems.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
This is an onsite role based in Rochester, NY.
Travel to project sites across New York State may be required (approximately 10%).
