Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to join their growing team in Rochester, NY. Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering evaluations, field inspections, design development, and cost estimation for a variety of building systems.
- Oversee and perform mechanical system design (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) with a focus on compliance, performance, and efficiency.
- Apply the latest codes and technologies to develop innovative and optimized solutions.
- Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and leadership across projects.
- Proficient in NYS Mechanical, Energy, and Plumbing Codes, as well as NFPA standards.
- Strong experience with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to thrive in a team environment.
- Preferred: Experience with energy modeling software (Carrier HAP, TRANE TRACE, or EQUEST), LEED Green Associate, and Commissioning knowledge.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
- Active NYS Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
- 10+ years of relevant post-graduate experience.
- Project experience in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system design—especially for schools, healthcare, and commercial facilities.
- Specialized knowledge in chilled/hot water systems, building controls, and industrial mechanical systems.
- This is an onsite role based in Rochester, NY.
- Travel to project sites across New York State may be required (approximately 10%).
