Payroll Coordinator

Pay Range: $28.00 – $31.25 / hour (DOE) Location: Syracuse, NY (On-Site) Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Flexibility available)

Your Daily Impact

  • Payroll Execution: Administer and process accurate biweekly payroll for multiple employee groups.

  • Data Integrity: Manage time approvals, data entry, auditing, and the processing of garnishments and benefit deductions.

  • Compliance Mastery: Ensure all processes align with labor laws, collective bargaining agreements, and internal controls.

  • Reporting & Analysis: Utilize reporting software to generate essential payroll reports for internal audits and external compliance.

  • Employee Support: Collaborate across departments to clarify payroll processes and resolve issues quickly and professionally.


What You Bring to the Table

  • Experience: At least 3 years of end-to-end payroll processing experience.

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree is required.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with HRIS systems and common payroll tools (experience with Ellucian Colleague or Banner is a major plus!).

  • Regulatory Knowledge: A solid understanding of federal and state payroll tax regulations and compliance standards.

  • Soft Skills: Excellent organizational habits, strong communication skills, and the ability to handle sensitive data with total discretion.
