Sales Director – Industrial Controls

From custom electronic modules and relays to advanced sensor-based systems, their products are engineered and built onsite in East Syracuse, NY. About the Role
The Sales Director will lead sales initiatives for the organization — managing key accounts, supporting national distributors and independent reps, and developing new business opportunities. This is a hands-on, high-impact role for someone who thrives on both relationship management and proactive outreach.

You’ll serve as the primary internal sales point of contact, collaborating closely with engineering, production, and customer service to deliver responsive and solution-oriented support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support independent sales reps and distributors, providing training and guidance.

  • Develop new business and expand existing accounts through consistent outreach.

  • Maintain accurate CRM data, including leads, opportunities, and order activity.

  • Prepare quotes, respond to customer inquiries, and ensure accurate order entry.

  • Collaborate with engineering and production to align customer requirements with capabilities.

  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities.

  • Provide Tier 1 technical assistance and product support as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related).

  • 3–5+ years of technical or industrial sales experience required.

  • Experience in industrial controls, electronics, or electromechanical components strongly preferred.

  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to learn complex product lines.

  • Organized, self-motivated, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base Salary: $75,000–$120,000 DOE
